KAPPA DELTA PI 2015 SCHOLARSHIPS

The KDP Educational Foundation International Scholarship cycle is conducted each spring with scholarships available to active undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degree-seeking students as well as professional members of KDP. Applications cannot be accepted from nonmembers or inactive members. Submissions for are acce[ted annually from January until April.  Check the KDP scholarship site for specific dates. Please apply here.

Kappa Delta Pi offers 39 scholarship opportunities for KDP members representing financial assistance totaling over $66,000. Scholarships are available for multiple levels of study including undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, and practicing educators. The 2015 KDP Scholarship Deadline is May 1st.

Kappa Delta Pi also awards a National Student Teacher of the Year Award. Award winners are acknowledged with a $1,500 scholarship award. The deadline for applications is June 25tth.

Sandra Jo Hornick Scholarships for two students.  One for a KDP member and one for a student at Kent State University only; $1,000 each.

Kappa Delta Pi awards classroom teacher grants to practicing teachers to fund projects and provide supplies. Application open period is August 1 through October31  with recipients announced in December.

J. Jay Hostetler Scholarships for two student teachers; $500 each (1 awarded in the spring; 1 in the fall).

Frank and Virginia Marsh Scholarships for one undergraduate and one graduate student who write research papers based on issues that affect teachers and learning; $450 each.

Harold D. Drummond Scholarships for four undergraduate or graduate students in Elementary Education; $500 each

J. Everett and Louise Light Scholarship for undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral student in Special Education; $925.

Donna Gail Shaw Scholarship for Chapter Service for one undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral student, or practicing K-12 educator in the first three years of teaching; $1,000.

William B. Martin East Carolina University Scholarship for a Special Education or Middle Grades Education student at East Carolina University; $1,000.

Donna Gail Shaw Scholarship for Chapter Service for one undergraduate, graduate or doctoral student, or practicing K-12 educator in the first three years of teaching; $1,000.

UNDERGRADUATE

  • William Tasse Alexander Scholarship Fund for students from Mecklenburg County, North Carolina (Application Deadline is March 16, 2015); $1,000 - $3,500.
  • Hattie R. Fowler Memorial Scholarship Fund 
  • Virginia Wyant Abee Scholarship Fund 
  • MBNA Scholarship for a student in Special Education; $1,000.
  • Jerry Robbins Scholarship for a student in Instrumental Music (band and/or orchestra); $875.

 

GRADUATE

  • MBNA Scholarship for a student in Special Education; $1,000.
