What makes up the NC Teach Program?

  • An intensive six-week Summer Institute (prior to entering the classroom)
  • Enhanced mentoring
  • Extensive support during the first year of teaching
  • Seminars and courses throughout the fall and spring semesters following the Summer Institue

Who is eligible for the NC Teach Progam?

Individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Have had at least three years successful work experience since graduation from college.
  • Have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 for all post-secondary work.
  • Have no criminal record.
  • Exemplify a commitment to students.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills.
  • Agree to participate in all program activities.
  • Teachers recently hired through lateral entry may apply. 

 

What is the cost to be in NCTeach?

NCTEACH participants will pay tuition and fees established by the Lenoir-Rhyne University Graduate School. Present cost (subject to change):

$365.00 per semester hour - rates subject to change.
$35.00 Registration Fee
$20.00 Technology Fee Per Semester
$500.00 (approximately) for books for the total program

NOTE: NCTEACH participants will attend weekly seminars on Thursdays, 5:00-8:00 p.m., throughout the fall and spring semesters.
