Master of Arts in Teaching
The Lenoir-Rhyne Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program is designed for students who have earned a non-education undergraduate degree and wish to pursue middle grades or secondary teacher licensure. The MAT program is an intensive one year residency model focusing on directed clinical practice under the collaborative supervision of public school and university faculty.
Master of Arts in Language Development and Learning
Lenoir-Rhyne University offers the opportunity for Masters level study in Education. Educators with any current North Carolina license may build skills in leadership, professional academic skills, and understandings of contemporary issues in education. The Masters of Arts in Education also provides educators with a path to additional licensure in
• English as a Second Language Education
• Birth to Kindergarten Education
• Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education
Master of Arts in School Leadership
The Master of Arts in School Leadership program and the master's level add-on principal licensure programs are both new programs at Lenoir-Rhyne University. It is the intent of these programs to prepare leaders of 21st century schools. These programs are in response to both the need of surrounding schools districts as well as the need to the university and thus School of Education, to grow its programming.
