Bio:
Dr. Terri Barrett teaches in the licensure specialty areas of Birth to Kindergarten as well as Deaf/ Hard of Hearing Education. Dr. Barrett's experience teaching in the field of Deafness ranges from work with parents at home with newly diagnosed infants in the first few days of life to work with 21 year olds in residential schools. She has taught in varied settings in public schools as well, including resource rooms, self contained classes, itinerant settings, and in middle and high schools residential settings.
Two decades of Dr. Barrett's teaching career have been dedicated to preschoolers and infants, and it is in the area of Early Childhood Education that Dr. Barrett earned her National Board Certification. Her professional fascination is with the youngest child, and her hope is that she can help developing professionals understand how partnerships with parents and other professionals serve to make the most of the critical early years of learning.
